Official Resource Notice
The information presented here is for general guidance and includes simplified examples. It may not reflect the most current or complete standards. Always consult the official DAFMAN 36-2905 for definitive PT standards and scoring charts. Our PT Calculator can help estimate your score based on these principles.
Body Composition (WHtR)
Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR) is a component of the Body Composition Assessment. A WHtR of ≤ 0.55 is required to pass this component. Failure results in an overall test failure.
Calculation: Waist Circumference (inches) / Height (inches)
Passing Standard: ≤ 0.55
Refer to DAFMAN 36-2905 for specific measurement procedures.
Alternate Exercises
The Air Force provides alternate exercises for members with medical limitations or specific exemptions. These include:
- 2-km Walk (aerobic)
- Hand-Release Push-ups (strength)

- Forearm Plank (strength)
- HAMR Shuttle Run (High Aerobic Multi-shuttle Run - aerobic)
Scoring charts for these alternate exercises are also available in DAFMAN 36-2905. Our PT Calculator supports these alternates.
